All teams
competing in Super Series events must have excess
accident/medical coverage and general liability insurance.
Required coverage limits are a minimum on $ 100,000
excess accident/medical, and a
minimum of $ 1,000,000 general liability
which includes participant legal liability. The team has
the right to purchase its insurance from any reputable company
and Super Series Insurance is an available option.
If you need insurance and would like to purchase it through
Super Series Baseball of America, please click on this link.

All teams
must bring the following documents prior to participating in
any Super Series Indiana tournaments:
1. A photo copy of your official Super Series
Spring/Summer 2006 team Roster/Registration, which includes
the official registration number on the lower part of the
document
2. Photo copies of birth certificates
for every participating team player that is on your official
Super Series Roster.
3. A Photo copy of your certificate of insurance.
Please note: All the documents listed above will be
kept on file by the Super Series Indiana staff, so please
make sure these are not your only copies.
May 1st.
Example: A 14 year old player who turns 15 on April
27th, would be ineligible to compete in the 14 year old
division for that season. A 14 year old player who turns
15 on May 1st or after, is considered to be an eligible 14 year old
player for that season.
Please
realize that no one, or no organization, has been able to
compose a "concrete" definition of what is, or isn't an
"Minor", "American" or "National Division team. There is
no definitive method by which to accurately classify each
team's skill level. Classification is not accurately
defined by a recruiting area, the number of games a team
plays, or the number of victories a team achieves in
qualifiers. Team records are no comparable because of
the varying level of opponents are not consistent.
While the
concept of divisional play is to group teams of similar skill
levels, there is no sure-fire method of achieving this goal.
Still, Super Series will do its best to prevent "sandbagging",
and to enforce and administrate our rules for all
participating teams equitably and firmly.
NATIONAL DIVISION:
The National Division is designed for the nation's most
competitive "select" teams. Players on these teams are
often recruited from a statewide area. They are truly
state All-Star teams. The National Division provides
outstanding teams the opportunity to compete against the best
in the Nation.
AMERICAN DIVISION:
The American Division is designed for those teams which
have been comprised of players from the same school,
community, or area. This is a select division which
allows these teams a fair level of competition, and to compete
for a National Championship.
MINOR DIVISION:
The Minor Division is designed primarily for teams
participating in such organizations as Pony, Babe Ruth, Dizzy
Dean, Dixie Youth, Little League and other such leagues.
The Minor Division team players must all come from within the
same league. League All-Star teams are acceptable.
If an adequate number of both American
and National Division teams enter a qualifying tournament, we
will offer two or more separate and pure age divisions.
If we must combine both divisions to have an adequate number
of teams within the age group, American teams could possibly
play National teams in pool play as well as Minor teams could
play American Teams
YES, with exceptions. A team may change
divisions, up or down, provided it has not qualified for a
National Championship berth. Once a team qualifies for a
National berth in any division, they no longer can move down
in class for the remainder of that season. However, the
team may still move up. Teams which qualify for a berth
in a National Championship event must compete in the highest
National Championship division in which they have qualified.
Super Series Baseball of America takes pride in using the
OFFICIAL SPORTING NEWS BASEBALL RULES, with exceptions, as our
basis for all tournament play. Our primary exceptions
are:
A. Lead-Off's are allowed in all divisions ages 9 and
above.
B. The dropped 3rd strike rule is in effect in all
age division ages 9 up.
C. Starting players may be removed and re-enter the
game ONE time in their original batting position.
D. Players who have not been inserted into the game
may courtesy run for either the pitcher or catcher at any time
(but cannot run for more than one specific player per inning.)
E. Missed bases require an appeal play.
F. A team may use an E-H (extra hitter) in the
line-up if declared at the START OF THE GAME. If
a team elects to start the game using an E-H, the team must
use a 10 player line-up throughout the game. If, due to
injury or ejection, the team is reduced to 9 players - an out
shall be recorded when the 10th player was scheduled to bat.
If the team is reduced to 8 players, the game shall be
forfeited.
G. Players may use any length and weight bat provided
the barrel does not exceed 2 3/4 inches in diameter.

Yes. All games (including elimination
and championship rounds) will be played with run rules of the
following:
20 after 1 inning
12 after 3 innings
10 after 4 innings
8 after 5 innings
Time limits are set and regulated by local tournament

10, 11 & 12 and under divisions -- 1 hour 30 minutes
13 & 14 divisions -- 1 hour 45 minutes
A. No new inning may start after time has expired,
except when a game is tied.
B. In pool play and elimination rounds, if a game is tied
after time is expired, ONE extra inning shall be

the elimination rounds.
C. During the championship round in the qualifying
tournament, there are no time limits.
Yes.
Mandatory.
Players advancing to second with the intent to break-up a
double play must slide into the bag. All calls regarding
rough play, sliding, etc. shall be the judgment call of the
umpires. Fake tags will be considered as "obstruction"
by our umpires. Officials will then award the runner
bases per their judgment
Metal spikes
are allowed in 12 and above
age divisions.
Are there pitching limitations?
There are NO
pitching limitations in ages 9's and above. Per Sporting
News Rules, pitchers must be removed upon the second visit to
the mound or field by any coach in the same inning. If a
coach calls time, and crosses the foul line to confer with any
player, this shall be considered a visit for that inning.
Is there a dropped 3rd strike rule?
YES.
The dropped 3rd strike rule is in effect in all age divisions
9 and above.
Does the tournament provide game balls?
Please check
with the local tournament director regarding game ball
policies. In Super Series Indiana tournaments, two
game balls will be provided per game. We suggest that
team managers purchase at least three additional new balls at
the tournament site so that there are no delays in competition
due to lack of balls.
What determines HOME teams?
A coin flip
shall determine the home team in all games. The home
team shall occupy the 3rd base dugout.
What if there is a tied game?
All Super Series Tournaments shall utilize pool play format
initially. Single elimination rounds will follow pool
play. In the event of ties between teams, winners will
be decided by the following priority:
1. Total Runs allowed
2. Total Runs scored
3. Coin flip
What is the tournament format?
All Super Series Indiana tournaments follow a guaranteed
three game format. The top four (4) winners in each age group and
division will qualify for a National Championship berth.
All Super Series Tournament directors reserve the right to
alter, change, or abbreviate tournament formats, when
necessary, in order to complete the tournament.
What if it rains during the tournament?
A full refund if no games have begun; 1/2 refund if one (1)
game is started; no refunds once second game begins. No
gate refunds, nor rain checks at any time. Tell you
players and fans, if play is in doubt due to inclement weather
or rain, to wait until play begins to enter the park.
It rained last night, is the tournament still on for today?
It is Super Series Indiana's full intent to start and/or
complete a tournament as scheduled. However, the
ultimate decision to play on a field or fields is up to the
management of the complex itself. Decisions made by the
individual complexes are not negotiable and are final.
Make sure prior to the tournament you have the tournament
directors cell phone, pager, or rain hotline number.
What if a game is suspended due to weather?
A game shall be ruled as official and complete if it is
called by umpires or the tournament director due to rain,
inclement weather, lighting failure, or other reasons beyond
our control, provided four (4) innings have been completed.
If four (4) innings have not been completed, the game shall be
suspended and resumed from that point, when safe play can be
resumed.
What if I want to protest a call?
All protests will be resolved immediately. Only
manager may protest. Judgment calls by umpires may not
be protested. Upon a protest, a manager shall remit $100
protest fee. If the protest is upheld, the $100 shall be
immediately refunded. If the protest is denied, the
deposit shall be forfeited. Protests shall be resolved
by the tournament director and his designees, in consultation
with the umpires of the game.
How many coaches receive coaches passes?
Each team shall receive three (3) coaches passes in your
packet. Coaches who lose, forget, or misplace their
passes will be required to pay a non-refundable gate
admission. Individuals who abuse or misuse these passes
shall forfeit their passes for the duration of the tournament.
How many coaches can be in a dugout during a game?
A maximum of four adults per team are allowed in the
dugouts. Only three coaches are allowed outside of the
dugout at any time. Absolutely no glass items are
allowed in the dugouts. Team water coolers are allowed,
unless provided by the tournament site or prohibited by the
complex management. Teams must pick up trash and debris
in the dugout before departure from all games.
Do I need line-up cards?
Each manager must prepare three (3) written copies of his
line-up, listing first & last names, and numbers, of all
players and substitutes, prior to each game. Line-ups
must be provided to the plate umpire, opposing manager, and
opposing scorekeeper. A game shall not start until this
is complete. Should a coach omit a player from his
written line-up, that player cannot participate in that game
only. Managers are responsible for providing their own
line-up cards.
Is tobacco use allowed?
Use of tobacco products is prohibited on all fields and in
the dugouts during games.

ROSTER
CHANGES
Occasionally, parents request a change of teams for their son.
Once a family, or player, has made a voluntary commitment to a
team, the player is bound to this team for the duration of the
current season unless released by the team. Super Series
believes that players and families should honor their
commitment.
Any team
which resides on a state border, may recruit players up to a
distance of 25 miles in the nearest bordering state and may
obtain a "Border Exemption" from the Super Series office.
This rule assumes that the 25 mile area across the state
border is part of the same city market area. (Examples
of border communities are: Kansas City, Memphis, St.
Louis, etc.)
To obtain
the Border Community Exemption, the team must submit the
street address for the out-of-state player for the
pre-approval prior to adding the player to the roster.
1. No
player may appear on more than one Super Series roster within
the same age division at any time. PENALTY:
the second team to add the player to its roster shall be
disqualified and the player may be suspended.
2.
Players MUST be released by their team manager to participate
as a player with another Super Series registered team.
Released players may not return to any team from which they
were "dropped" during the remainder of the current
registration season.
3.
Players found to have participated with more than one
registered Super Series team in the same age division may be
suspended, or declared ineligible for the remainder of the
current registration season. Repeat violators will be
disqualified from Super Series indefinitely.
4.
Team may not pick up players from another registered Super
Series team, without the release of the players by the
original team. PENALTY: the team picking up
the player(s) shall be disqualified from further Super Series
competition for the remainder of the annual registration
period on the first offense; disqualified indefinitely on the
second offense.
5. All
added players must be added via the online registration system
and a new roster certificate must be printer.
Handwritten player additions are ineligible.
6. No
registered player may change teams during a season without a
release from his team manager. Super Series believes
that players should honor and complete their commitments.
PENALTY: Both the player and second team are
disqualified.
7. Any
player MAY play up with a second Super Series team, provided
the second team is an older division. However, if a
player is on both a 12 and 13 roster, he may play with only
one of the two teams if competing in the same tournament.
PENALTY: The player may be suspended by Super
Series.
Player
commitments end at the conclusion of each Super Series
season's national championships. At these times, all
registrations expire, and players are free agents and may
elect to change teams. Teams are required to obtain a
valid registration before commencing play in each Super Series
Season.
A team may
use an E-H (extra hitter) in the line-up if declared at the
START OF THE GAME. If
a team elects to start the game using an E-H, the team must
use a 10 player line-up throughout the game. If, due to
injury or ejection, the team is reduced to 9 players - an out
shall be recorded when the 10th player was scheduled to bat.
If the team is reduced to 8 players, the game shall be
forfeited.
A courtesy
runner, who has not entered the game, may be used for the
pitcher or catcher at any time. Such courtesy runner can
run for only one player in an inning. The same player
cannot run for both the pitcher and catcher in the same
inning.
Starters may
re-enter one time in their original batting position.
Substitutes
removed from the game are ineligible to return. All
substitutions shall be reported to the home plate umpire, who
will inform the scorekeepers. Teams which fall short of
nine eligible players during a game, due to player ejection(s),
shall forfeit that game only. There will be no forfeits
due to a disabling injury to the last player available.
In the event of a disabling injury, and all eligible
substitutes have already entered the game, the last player
removed must be re-inserted. The injured player may no
re-enter the game thereafter.
Can my pitcher return to the mound?
Any pitcher removed from the mound upon the second visit by
a coach or manager in the same inning, may NOT return to the
mound in that game. PENALTY: Forfeiture of the
game.
A pitcher may be moved to another position (except E-H)
once per inning and return to the mound to resume pitching
provided:
1. the pitcher has not been replaced by a
substitute
2. the new pitcher has faced at least one batter
3. such move occurs prior to the second visit in
any inning.
A substitute may pinch-hit for the pitcher ONCE in a game,
and the pitcher may re-take the mound. The pinch-hitter
is then ineligible for participation in the remainder of the
game.
Any manager,
coach, player or fan ejected from the game must LEAVE THE PARK
and may not return for any reason until the next scheduled
game. If the same person is ejected for a second time,
he or she will not be allowed into the park for the remainder
of the tournament. Failure to comply with this rule will
result in forfeiture of the game. Razzing, heckling,
chanting, or making disparaging remarks towards opponents or
staff in any manner is prohibited.
What if one of the coaches, players, or fans become
disorderly?
Any
disorderly conduct, threat of, or act of violence shall result
in the removal and arrest of the responsible individual(s).
Any person on the premises who is intoxicated, shall also be
removed from the complex by security personnel. Any
person(s) removed under these circumstances shall be
prohibited from entering the park grounds, including the
parking lots, for the duration of the tournament. Upon
such ejections, refunds will not be giving to any such
individuals.
What happens if there is a fight during a game?
Should any player, coach, or team member take part in any
fighting, those individuals shall be ejected from the
tournament on the first occurrence. Should any member of
the team subsequently become involved in a second incident of
fighting, the entire team shall be ejected from all further
participation in the tournament and subject to suspension by
Super Series Baseball.
What if a team disrespects the game?
Any team(s) that conspire with another to determine the
outcome of any game; or any team that makes a mockery of the
game by failing to play to the best of its ability; or any
team that intentionally, by its play, attempts to limit the
score, or lose a game, which could affect other teams and
standings, shall immediately be disqualified and will be
prohibited from further participation in Super Series.
The manager and coaches of such teams will be banned from ever
coaching in Super Series again.
What if a team doesn't show for competition?
Any team that fails to show for a scheduled Super Series
tournament game, unless a team medical emergency can be
immediately verified and documented, shall be disqualified
from further participation in that tournament. Teams are
not permitted to "surrender" during the course of any
tournament game. All games must be played per tournament
rules. Should a team withdrawal its team from the field,
or quit, prior to completion of any tournament game, that team
is disqualified from all further participation in the
tournament.
A maximum of
90 seconds, or 5 warm-up pitches, will be allowed between
innings with timing stared upon the 3rd out. The umpire
shall keep time. Automatic strikes may be called on
offensive teams not ready, and automatic balls may be called
on the defensive teams not ready, after the umpire has
directed teams to play. If an injury requires an
emergency pitching change, the new pitcher will have 10
minutes maximum for warm-up, during which time the game time
clock shall be stopped.
All team
pre-game warm-ups will be done in a specified warm up area, or
in the OUTFIELD of a ball field. Absolutely no infield
practice allowed on any infield. No pitching practice
allowed on any ball field mound. The local tournament
director may set a time limit for an infield practice routine
prior to championship games.
What awards are presented at the tournaments?
Awards will vary depending on the tournament event.
However, individual awards will always be presented to all
players of the top two finishing teams. Super Series
MidAmerica tournaments also present a team trophy to the
winning coaches.
